Get a kick out of this!

This week, I find myself in GORGEOUS Winnipeg, I’m here to check in on my most amazing mom. So far, Winnipeg has seen 3 days of fog, covering Winnipeg in some of the most spectacular hoar frost I have ever seen. Of course, I was so excited to get out and capture some of these images today, but, by the time I got out the frost had already melted. BOO!!

My old friend Sacha Rosen, who’s in the film industry, and Winnipeg’s funkiest DJ, who also happens to be WINNIPEG’s BIGGEST JETS fan came out to help me smile! Yes, my camera got wet, I was on the ground shooting this…so, instead of spectacular nature shots, we have random kicking snow at the camera with his Jets Jersey, Jets Flag, Disco ball, equipped with helmet visor!

Hope you smile too!

Engagement Session by Lindsay: Christine & Fred

I just want to start this post with… I LOVE LINDSAY.  Indeed, we all do.

Last weekend, our couple, Christine and Fred ventured out with Lindsay on a rather cold January afternoon to do this cozy, wintery park shoot at Beaver Lake.  I adore late afternoon shoots, the light was perfect, they were relaxed.  It just looks romantic and yummy.   Well thought out, proper winter attire, loved the furry hoods, the hot chocolate and cookies.

We are so excited to be working with Christine, Fred and their families this year.  Lindsay will be shooting their wedding.  We ALWAYS offer complimentary engagement sessions to all of our couples.  WHY? you ask…Well, it is likely one of the most important parts of our package.  The engagement session, allows you to get to know your photographer.  Whether, I am your main photographer, or Lindsay is.  You must get in front of the camera, see the photos, and develop a trust and happy start to the big day.

Gorgeous engagement session, Linds.    I’m just so proud.  We love them so.

Please give me a call, if you are interested in working with Lindsay as your main photographer for 2012.  Lindsay is booking fast, availability is going quickly.

Anne-Marie & Francis – Dreams Tulum, Mayan Riviera, Mexico

It’s not every day that I have the privilege to photograph destination weddings.  However, when this amazing couple reached out to me a couple of years ago, it seemed that 11.11.11 was in the very far future.  Before I knew it, November was around the corner, and I was packing my sunscreen.  There are so many amazing reasons to get married far from home.  It truly gives your guests the opportunity to take a much needed vacation, gather family members for some of the best times of their lives, and it is just one big party with your closest friends for at least 1 week.

I was very excited to have free wifi, (Even though it was a vaycay for everyone else, it was a working vacation for me…believe me no complaints!) a gorgeous room with a view at a spectacular all inclusive resort, Dreams Tulum, and best of all, amazing people to quickly become friends with, even book another wedding!

Anne-Marie & Francis, and their GORGEOUS sweetie pie baby, Maya, along with their friends and family was one of the best experiences I have  experienced as a photographer.

I hope you too are inspired to get hitched at a tropical resort.  Maybe, you will think of me to photograph the moments!  Just ask, and I will walk you through it, and hopefully we will work together.

Please check out some of my own personal work that I took on this trip:

Jennifer and Jomar’s Wedding

Smiles, Smiles and more smiles.  That is the best way to describe this intrinsically happy couple.  Jennifer and Jose were married in the fall, October 15th, 2011, likely the windiest day of the year.   We had a great shoot despite the weather.  When I look back at their special day, some of my favourite memories are of them giggling down the aisle.  You can’t help but smile when you see their happy faces.

The reception was full of surprises, Skype videos from the Philippines, hilarious surprise interactive games by their guests, a choreographed dance by Jenn and Jomar, and beautiful speeches.  Kissing games…(check out the animated shot below)

From my perspective, it is so warming to see such closeness between family and friends.  Their is obviously a lot of love and support here.

We extend a big THANK-YOU to Jennifer and Jose for selecting us as their wedding photographers.  We had a blast shooting your fun filled wedding.

Khrystle & Rommel’s Wedding

Khrystle & Rommel moved out to Fort McMurray, Alberta last year, when we first met. My good friends at MaddyK introduced me to Khrystle, and I was very excited to hear what kind of gorgeous wedding my friends would style up for this couple at Le Loft Hotel.  I remember one of our last meetings together, I had asked Khrystle about their video decisions,  I then shared some of the videos from our friends at Ioan films, I could see her quickly falling in love with the work.  Next thing, I knew they were booked!  Check out the well crafted next day edit below that Ioan put together.  My friends from Purplest, (Shierly Tjipto and Richard Pham) dazzled the stationary at this wedding.  Check out the menu cards, place cards, programs..they are just wow.  I am a very big fan of their work!   I was also pleasantly surprised, but not surprised that my very good friend, Charlotte-Marie Flannery was already a priority on the list, as Khrystle’s make-up artist.  How proud could I be, to be amongst such a caliber of talented individuals, one after the other.  That cake, BTW…wow.. Dolci Piu.  We love very much love working with our friends from DJ Serafino ..You guys know how to get people on a dance floor! Well done!  Of course, we brought along Photobooth Montreal.  What’s a wedding without a photobooth these days?

Anyway, even with Khrystle’s lost voice, she looked gorgeous, everyone had a blast, and we were so proud to be a part of the special day.  Special thanks to Khrystle’s Tita who made some of the delicious desserts, then sent Lindsay and I home with lots of yummy treats.

Always, a huge THANK-YOU to Lindsay Muciy.  You are my star.

Photobooth Pics to come!

Chris
